Do I have enough information? - Requesting a locate investigation

We talk with several clients each month, who are concerned that they might not have enough information for us to locate a crucial witness, a defendant who has failed to claim certified mail, or even a “lost” client. To their surprise, in most instances, they have more than enough information for us to successfully locate the individual and complete the assignment. Obviously, if we’re provided with the subject’s social security number, driver’s license number, or any other piece of unique identifying information, our job is generally quick and easy. But what if the information you have is limited or incomplete? It’s simple - just provide us with what you do know and we’ll do the rest.

Our years of experience combined with access to a full complement of robust databases enables us to locate individuals who are crucial to your case - often using very limited information. While a name, former name, or social media handle, provided with at least some context, may be enough, the odds of a successful locate assignment increase exponentially when one of those is combined with one or more of the following:

  • Current address or city of residence

  • Previous address or city of residence

  • Current or former phone number

  • Current or former email address

  • Date of birth

  • Name of a spouse, ex-spouse, partner, or family member

  • Current or former employer

  • Professional license type

  • Business affiliation(s)

  • Hobbies

  • Social or professional groups or memberships

  • Screen name, user name, or social media handle

The list above is not exhaustive. Discussion with the investigator, specific to the facts of your case, will almost always result in additional information that may be used to aid in locating the subject. Each piece of information provided - even if it seems insignificant - can help cut both the turnaround time and the fees associated with the investigation assignment. Often we are able to provide you with up-to-date contact information for a subject without ever leaving our office. But rest assured that, in the event that an individual fails to respond to remote contact efforts and field work becomes necessary, our investigators are experienced in traditional investigation techniques and “boots on the ground” field work.

Choosing Clinton Investigations to locate important parties will free up you and your staff so that you can focus on the legal aspects of your client’s case.
